As I have reported in the past, Region 1 (Greater Moncton and southeastern NB) is one of the least physically active areas in all of Canada (out of something like 140 health regions).
Maybe it’s time to follow Calgary’s lead. The GO2 Calgary initiative is a well funded promotional campaign to raise the level of physical activity in that city. They are running TV, radio and print advertisments. Also importantly, they seem to have funding from both the public and private sectors.
I am not sure about Freddy Beach and Saint John. I seem to recall that Civil Servant Town is quite active and SJ is sort of median. Monctonians, however; …….
Just a thought.
