Iggy’s Pecs? I’ll Pass

Lawrence Martin has a piece in the G&M today saying that Canada is ready for “a more sophisticated, intellectual form of leadership. ”  Then he invokes Obama, of course.

I’m all for intellectual leadership. I think our PM needs to have a more intellectual approach to regional development.  But Obama is not just about intellectualism, it is about hero worship. From a recent story in the Washington Post:

In a front-page exclusive, The Washington Post revealed that on Obama’s recent vacation, the Hawaiian “sun glinted off (his) chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games.”

Is this President Obama or Tom Cruise?

Please, please, please – no stories about Michael Ignatieff’s pectorals.
