Weird political advertising moment

What’s the name of that comedian that used to twist what people would say to make ordinary statements seem funny? I just can’t remember…..

Anyway, I had such a moment with the Libera online advertisments that are being pumped out of just about every online newspaper (locally and the national papers).

Here’s the one in question:

Now, does this mean the Shawn Graham will put New Brunswick on the “road to self-sufficiency” in 20 years from now or on the road to self-sufficiency that will lead to this goal in 20 years?

When I first read it quickly, I though Shawn was going to wait 20 years and then start us down that road to self-sufficiency.

But then I checked myself, that is actually the sub-text of the Tory ads :-).

Shawn Graham may be on to something. The article S.C. hopes to lead hydrogen economy
related to hydrogen development states: “the research and resulting industry investments could tally $10 billion within the next 20 years and translate into tens of thousands of well-paying jobs”.
