Monthly Labour Market Update

Here’s your monthly labour market update for October.

Nova Scotia adds 5,000 jobs over September.

New Brunswick down 700. Compared to last October, there are 4,000 less working in the province of New Brunswick.

Didn’t Bernard Lord say last month that we are on track to have best year for job creation in the last 30?

Hmmm.

On those other stats that I have less faith in compared to the raw employment data, the unemployment rate in October was 11% compared to Canada’s 6.6% and Nova Scotia’s 8.5%.

The employment rate is 56.8% again the second lowest in the country.
